The Mirror Lake swimming area is closed for the season. Swimming is prohibited as lifeguards are not present. See you next June!

MIRROR LAKE 2025 SEASON GUIDELINES

Resident and Guest Registration

We may be registering all lake visitors on a daily basis this season. If required to do so, all members must check in with the lifeguard upon arrival each day. You will be asked to provide your name and address and to show your beach tags to ensure membership is current. If the beach is busy, you will receive a flag. Please place the flag in the sand by the area you are occupying. Thank you for keeping guests outside PGL to a minimum.

Carry In Carry Out: No Trash or Recycling

For the protection of our staff and beautification of our grounds, there are no longer trash or recycling bins at the beach. No bags may be left at the curb. Do not use the playground or basketball trash. Carry in, carry out - members are asked to take their trash and recycling with them when they leave.

No Community Sand Toys

Do not leave any of your beach toys, floaties, rafts, boats, towels, etc. They will move to lost & found at the end of the night and disposed of 24-hrs later if not claimed.

Number of Guests

There must at all times be a PGL member in good standing present while having non-PGL guests at the beach area (or any common area). Interested in a small gathering/party? You must contact the board for pre-approval to secure the date and lifeguards and adhere to party rules which will be provided. PGL is a private members-only community and tags and  ID should be on you at all times.

Port-o-Potty

A port-o-potty is provided as a convenience to members and their guests intended to be used during beach opening hours. Paper towels and cleaning spray can be used to wipe down any surfaces. The use of hand sanitizer is also encouraged. Clean up after yourself and young children must be accompanied by adults to ensure they are safe and clean.

Items Left at the Lake

Any items left at the lake will be held for 24 hours, and then discarded. Please be sure to bring all of your items home with you at the end of your visit. Do not leave boats, canoes, paddle boards, life jackets. They clutter the beach, are nesting grounds for mosquitos, and are not allowed to be kept overnight. Bring everything home that you brought in.

SEe something, say something

We are all paying members. If you see someone not accompanied by a PGL homeowner on our common properties (swimming, fishing, etc). politely say something. We get a lot of surprise guests in the summer looking for a nice watering hole, and while we'd love to welcome all, it is not fair to the members in good standing who pay for these common areas, the lifeguards, landscaping, etc. Contact the local police in case of emergency.

Mirror Lake Rules

Mirror Lake will be open for the season from 1pm to 7pm beginning June 27, 2025. Tags required at al

Pine Grove’s Mirror Lake Rules

Association of Property Owners at Pine Grove Lakes (PGLA)

Lifeguards are provided for the safety of PGLA members and their guests; however, swimming is at your own risk and has inherent dangers associated with it.  It is incumbent upon the members and their guests to recognize these risks and use good judgment and common sense when utilizing any of the association’s common properties and facilities. Even though the lifeguard is on duty, it is incumbent upon parents and/or guardians to supervise the activities of their children and guests, at all times, in and out of the water.

The lifeguard has the authority to restrict the lake privileges of anyone who is repeatedly acting in an unsafe manner or is in violation of the lake rules.

Swimming

  1. The lake will open for swimming on the day school ends and will close Labor Day.  Swimming or wading when the lifeguard is not present is prohibited.
  2. Swimming is only allowed in the roped areas that are supervised by the lifeguards.  Swimming beyond the ropes, off of watercraft, or in any other part of Mirror Lake is prohibited.
  3. The roped off  “waffle” area is for the use of small children and non-swimmers.  There is NO diving from the waffle or swimming/wading behind the waffle. Do not bounce or shake the waffle.
  4. The center area is roped off for children eight and over. This area may be used for water sports and games. At lifeguard’s discretion, younger children can play in the center area. No paddle boards.
  5. Any child entering 3rd grade or higher must successfully complete a lifeguard-supervised swim test in order to be permitted to swim to the dock without being accompanied by an adult (at lifeguard discretion).
  6. Diving is permitted from the dock.  Horseplay, flips, or other gymnastics are prohibited. Do not push and shove or throw a person off the dock.
  7. Jumping from the dock onto floats or tubes is prohibited.
  8. Persons unable to swim are forbidden to use flotation devices which carry them into water over their heads.
  9. PGLA resident children 14 years or younger or those who are entering eighth grade or under will not be allowed on the beach or in the water unless accompanied by a PGL parent or guardian 16 years or older.  A PGLA adult member must accompany all guests, including guest children.

Boats and Watercraft

  1. Boats and other watercraft are allowed only outside the roped-off areas.
  2. Children using boats or paddle boards must wear Coast Guard approved life jackets or PFDs and may not get off the watercraft to swim in the lake outside the ropes.
  3. Boats and other watercraft cannot be stored or left on association property.
  4. Gas powered motorboats are never permitted in the lake.

Tags and Guests

  1. All members must carry their current year’s PGLA member tag and display the tag upon request.  To avoid inconvenience, members should carry their tags at all times. You need a sticker for the current year - ask a lifeguard or PGL board member for help.
  2. Members who are not current with their dues may not have common property privileges and may not be the guest of or use the tags of another PGLA member.
  3. Guests must be accompanied by an adult PGLA member at all times when using the association’s common property.

Other

  1. The lifeguard has the authority to evaluate potentially dangerous objects and prohibit their use.
  2. Use of the association’s beach equipment or boat is not permitted by anyone other than a lifeguard is not permitted.
  3. Dogs are not permitted on the beach, grass, or in the water of Mirror Lake.
  4. Please do not litter or leave any garbage at the beach. All PGL common properties are Carry In, Carry Out. This includes left behind towels, toys, etc.
  5. Do not feed the geese or any wildlife.
  6. Playing or walking in the stream is prohibited at all times.
  7. Fishing is not permitted in the swimming areas.
  8. Ice fishing, ice skating, or use of vehicles on the ice are not allowed.
  9. A port-o-potty is provided as a convenience to members and guests. Please keep them clean and accompany small children.
  10. Any items left at the lake will be held for 24 hours and then discarded. Please be sure to bring all of your items home with you at the end of your visit.
  11. Parking is not permitted on Greenway East between Torne and Greenway. Do not block the crosswalk leading to the playground/Grove area.
  12. All parties on PGLA common properties require board approval.  Please submit requests via email to the board at board@pinegrovelakes.org.

The Board of Trustees reserves the right to refuse swimming privileges to any resident or guest who consistently violates any of the above rules.
